Design Inspiration #3

In this third installment in my “inspiration” series I’m sharing the blog site of Nick Campbell, a motion designer, photographer, iPhone app designer and educator from Chicago. His site, GreyscaleGorilla, features frequent video tutorials for After Effects and Cinema 4D and lots of great ideas and discussions. I check in on the greyscale gorilla almost every day to see whats new, and I’ve learned quite a lot from his tutorials and podcasts in doing so. One thing I really like is that during a tutorial he will take the time to discuss why he creates or animates something the way he does or why he didn’t go about it another way, which I find is more helpful and creates a deeper understanding of a concept than simply knowing all the steps.
