Ports of Call
Over the course of two weekends in July of 2011 I recorded about 90 minutes of footage while on weekend excursions to Newport, RI and Westport, MA. “Ports of Call” is a two and a half minute “vacation film” I put together from all the shots I took at these locations. All the footage was taken with the Canon 60D in 720p at 60fps (59.94), allowing me to conform the footage to 30fps (29.97) for “slow motion” with using frame blending. In addition, the footage of Westport, MA was shot using the Cinestyle preset and given primary grading with the Technicolor Cinestyle LUT. I used Adobe After Effects to edit and composite the footage and gave it a retro feel using a modified secondary grading from Nick Campbell’s Vintage Film for Looks.
